From the South (Hudson Valley, New York City & Long Island):

1.       Take the NYS Thruway (I-87) Northbound

2.       Merge onto I-787 N via EXIT 23 toward DOWTOWN ALBANY/RENSSELAER/TROY

3.       Take the US-9 S/ US-20 E exit, Exit 3, toward RENSSELAER/EMPIRE PLAZA

4.       Take the ramp toward EMPIRE PLAZA

5.       Turn slight right onto SOUTH MALL ARTERIAL

6.       Turn right onto S Swan St.

7.       Turn left onto Washington Ave.

8.       Stay straight go onto Western Ave.

9.       End at 135 Western Ave

 

From the East (Boston & New England):

1.       Cross into New York via I-90 (NYS Thruway) Westbound

2.       Merge onto US-9 S via EXIT 6 toward JOHNSON BLVD/ ARBOR HILL.

3.       Stay STRAIGHT to go onto HENRY JOHNSON BLVD.

4.       Turn RIGHT onto WASHINGTON AVE.

5.       Stay STRAIGHT to go onto WESTERN AVE.

6.       End at 135 Western Ave

 

From the West (Buffalo & Syracuse):

1.       Take NYS Thruway I-90 Eastbound

2.       Take I-90 E via EXIT 24 toward I-87 N/ ALBANY/ MONTREAL

3.       Take the EVERETT RD exit, EXIT 5

4.       Turn RIGHT onto EVERETT RD.

5.       Turn LEFT onto CENTRAL AVE/ NY-5

6.       Turn RIGHT onto N LAKE AVE.

7.       Turn LEFT onto WESTERN AVE.

8.       End at 135 Western Ave

 

From the Southern Tier (& Binghamton):

1.       Take Rt. 17 East and then I-81 N at Binghamton

2.       Keep RIGHT to take I-88 E toward ALBANY

3.       Merge onto I-90 E/ NEW YORK STATE THRUWAY E toward ALBANY

4.       Keep LEFT to take I-90 E via EXIT 24 toward I-87 N/ ALBANY/ MONTREAL

5.       Take the EVERETT RD exit, EXIT 5

6.       Turn RIGHT onto EVERETT RD.

7.       Turn LEFT onto CENTRAL AVE/ NY-5

8.       Turn RIGHT onto N LAKE AVE.

9.       Turn LEFT onto WESTERN AVE.

10.    End at 135 Western Ave

 

From the North (Plattsburgh & Montréal):

1.       Take NYS Thruway (I-87) Southbound

2.       Merge onto NY-7 E via EXIT 7 toward TROY/ COHOES

3.       Merge onto I-787 S toward ALBANY/ WATERVLIET

4.       Merge onto I-90 W via EXIT 5 toward BUFFALO

5.       Merge onto US-9 S via EXIT 6 toward JOHNSON BLVD/ ARBOR HILL

6.       Stay STRAIGHT to go onto HENRY JOHNSON BLVD.

7.       Turn RIGHT onto WASHINGTON AVE.

8.       Stay STRAIGHT to go onto WESTERN AVE.

9.       End at 135 Western Ave


The University is 150 miles from New York City, 165 miles from Boston, and 242 miles from Montreal. The main campus is located near the intersection of the New York State Thruway, the Adirondack Northway, and Interstate 90. Within five miles of the campus are an AMTRAK rail station, the Greyhound and Trailways bus depots, and Albany International Airport, served by several major airlines.
